871L Series
The Chelsea 871-XL Series Power Take-Off (PTO) is engineered to provide expanded installation flexibility by allowing direct-mounted pumps to be positioned further rearward within the truck chassis. This added spacing between the PTO aperture and pump flange accommodates larger pump configurations while improving overall packaging efficiency. An optimized bracket system from Chelsea supports installation of pumps weighing up to 120 lb, enhancing system versatility. Built for high-performance applications, the 871-XL Series features ductile iron bearing caps that are 117% stronger than previous designs, along with an improved O-ring sealing system between the housing and bearing cap. These upgrades increase clamp load and help reduce vibration-related wear associated with modern engine designs. Heavy-duty bearings and optimized gear geometry deliver torque capacity of up to 670 lb-ft (908 N·m), ensuring reliable performance in demanding continuous-duty environments. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) is available to help protect driven equipment under high-risk operating conditions. Wet Spline technology is standard across all output configurations, helping extend PTO and pump shaft life by providing continuous lubrication and significantly increasing service life compared to conventional designs. The Chelsea 871-XL Series PTO is commonly used in fire and rescue, pumper cleaner, oil and gas, and refuse applications where high torque output, large pump compatibility, and installation flexibility are critical. Additional features include eight speed ratios with low- and high-speed options, five rotatable pump flange outputs, and a QuietGear input option for reduced noise operation. The design also incorporates simplified output support bracketing to improve installation ease while maintaining durability and performance.
