Application: PAVC38 Piston Pump

A client’s request for a load sensing pump for a mobile application seemed easy enough to fill. A flow of about 30 GPM and a maximum pressure of 3000 PSI were required. But, it had to be small! Very small! The space available was only about a one foot cube and crammed under a vehicle’s floor, next to the transmission. By increasing the output speed of the power take off to 100 RPM, a 2.3 cubic inch per revolution pump could produce the required flow. Parker’s PAVC38 piston pump just fit and the high speed was no problem due to this pump’s super charge fins on the piston barrel. It had side ports and bolted onto the power take off with a SAE “B” 13 tooth splined shaft / 2 bolt mount. This pump’s rugged cast iron housing also impressed the customer.
